Using numerical modeling, Catacel designs and engineers metal foil structures for catalytic combustion and other heat transfer processes

Design and Engineering of Metal Foil Structures for Catalytic Combustion and Other Heat Transfer Processes

Catacel utilizes numerical modeling to predict heat transfer properties, supported by a large database of properties for proprietary foil structures. We have developed heat transfer model interfaces designed to work in conjunction with reaction models to predict system performance as well as equipment and software for evaluating heat transfer of foil structures. Application of Catacel's technology and expertise has lead to foil structures that have the ability to survive in:

  • High temperature (900 °C+)
  • High pressure (30 bar in steam reforming)
  • High vibration (100 g in internal combustion engine exhaust with severe thermal cycling)
  • High velocity (1,000,000/hr in combustion environments)
  • Gas turbine and other catalytic combustion process exhausts
  • Cooking exhausts with severe thermal transients
